Hedge surfing

The result of Oliver doing what we like to call "hedge surf." He drops his toy in the hedge and then walks along the top searching for it. Inevitably he slips in...

Thank You

A huge thank you to all my sweet customers that ventured out in the pouring rain this past Saturday! I wasn't sure what to expect with my own diminished inventory from Glitterfest and hearing about our "storm watch" on the news. I guess we get pretty worked up over rain since we don't get it too often.

I managed to beef up my inventory a bit, during the wee hours in the AM the week before, and really just hoped for the best. Thankfully, it all turned out just fine!It was great to see my Brea peeps once again! Quite a tiring day but otherwise awesome. Thank you all so much for coming out in that crazy weather.
So that night after sharing dinner with family and friends I remembered that the Long Beach flea market was the next day. Rain or shine that show goes on and I sooo wanted to go. Since I get to work at Gilding on Sundays, it's usually a super early, very focused trip I take with my boy. He said he'd be up for it. About 6am the alarm sounds and its painful...I can't do it. I didn't even bother waking the boy. It was a no go. Had a great day at the store, didn't really think about it again. When I got home that afternoon I needed to get a few things from the market. Bella wanted to come. For some reason, I decided to stop at the thrift store before we went. I guess since we didn't do the Flea Market earlier, a quick detour would have to do. We walked in and from the door I saw them.

Walked right up to these pretty little leather shoes high on the rack.

Never worn, just dropped off for some unknown reason...waiting for me to come for them.We trolled around the shoes one more time and then found these! Also leather, and in perfect condition.

Both purchased for less than 15.00! I actually felt a little guilty so we left and didn't look anymore. Some times you gotta leave something for someone else :)

Ciao for now!

Glitterfest and my better than a Leg Lamp award!

After having missed the last show, I was so happy to be back at Glitterfest again! Surrounded by gorgeous creations of art, over-the-top displays and above all the nicest people, this show never ceases to impress me. Not surprisingly, Sheryl and Dianne of Whimzy, did a fantastic job of organizing this beautiful event. And this year my little space was honored with a Beautiful Booth Award!

With so many gorgeous displays I'm not sure how they picked me, but I was thrilled!

This time I even brought my number one little

Milagra girl Bella

who stayed with me for the whole show! Here she is with her auntie Catherine and two of our sweet friends Carrie & Amy who traveled over an hour to see us here!

A huge thank you to all those wonderful customers and friends, both new and old that came out to once again support my creative endeavors. Your encouragement and presence is such a blessing to me, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Oh! and I even had a surprise visit from my sweet sister-in-law Catherine Page the current reigning Mrs. Greater Los Angeles , no joke she's competing this Sunday for a Mrs. California title! Wish her luck.

Now for my next show, eeek it's this Saturday, yep, two just days from now!

I'll be at the Brea Spring Boutique from 9-4 if you'd like to stop by. Well I better get back to work and finish those new pieces!

Ciao for now!

Happy Valentines Day!

Well it that's time of year again

when Bella & I sit at the dining room table

to make her class Valentines.

While it sometimes seems crazy to make them, when we could just go to the drug store a buy a few boxes (which we have certainly done in the past) the last few years we've had more fun making them .

Now this past Christmas, we did make these very cute molded chocolate hand-painted snowmen which was actually crazy , so for this sweet little holiday, we decided to go easy.
We started with the tags.

Since she wanted to do something cute for the girls,

we had to do something different for the boys

(got to use that cool moon face I love).

And yes, these were her Valentines...

Then for the "treat" we decided on the ever-so-easy white-chocolate dipped pretzel rods, which is more of a "spooning over" than "dipping" I guess :)

on with lots of pink and red sprinkles.

We LOVE sprinkles!

And here they are all bagged & tagged.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Art Walk at LOLO Boutique

Well I know I told a few of you at my recent shows that I might be doing a trunk show in Dec. for one of the sweet stores that so graciously sells my creations.

Well it just so happened that last week when I went to drop off a few new pieces for Lolo Boutique, Susan mentioned she had no artist for Fullerton's first Friday Art Walk. Fortuitous happenstance? Perhaps. Whatever it is, I happily accept the serendipity of this gift. So it's Bella Luna Arts, this Friday night at Lolo Boutique in downtown Fullerton.

In looking back through my posts, I realized that the last time I was featured at an Art Walk was actually last November so it's kind of perfect I think. As always, I'll have new things, but here's a few pics of the some goodies I've been crafting these days. These pieces are actually already living with their new owners (unless they were purchased for gifts)but you get the idea, for new things to come this Friday :)

Check out my side bar for details. Hope you can make it and if not hope to see you soon!
Take care, Bridgette

Oh and just so you know the Wishing Tree is still standing tall in our yard, willing to hold any wishes you may like to send. Comment or email me for more info if ever you'd like to send something! And if you've never heard of theWishing Tree, click on the link above for the original post so long ago... :)

A huge thank you to all those lovely people who stopped by to see me this past weekend at the Irvine Fine Arts Festival. It was a really crazy week for me and my family, and in spite of the rain Friday, and the chilly air on Saturday, it turned out to be a great weekend. I'm always so amazed and humbled by those of you that come out to see and support me. Thank you. You gift me with tremendous blessings, far greater than just sales. Don't get me wrong, the sales are wonderful and allow me to continue doing what I love to do, but the encouragement from those of you who just seem "to get it" means so very much to me.

Now a few of you asked about upcoming shows and the only other one I have scheduled for this season, is The Nutcracker in Brea. Check out my side bar for more info. if you'd like to stop by.
I'll be sure to have lots of new things, since I nearly sold out in Irvine.

I'll even have a few rings

like these, I've been toying with,
waiting in my studio to be finished...
especially for you who've been asking :)

hope you like them.

Con carino,
Bridgette

You are a light...

Thank you for those sweet comments. It's so nice to hear from you and know you're still out there!

Much love, Bridgette

P.S. Now for a bit of a technical-type blogger question...does anyone know how to remove those GIANT spaces between my text and photos? I think it has something to do with how I upload. I tried to go back and edit the html, but to no avail...

Anyhow, if anyone knows I'd love to rid my post of those huge gaps.
Thanks again!

Where to begin...

I tried to write a post or two this summer,

even saved one in " drafts."

Just never felt quite right

about just diving back in.

After being gone for so long, it's hard to know where to start. And of course the longer I'm gone the harder it becomes.

Do I stick with the "art stuff" or try and explain why I've been gone so long? Does it really matter? Probably not. But I'm here now, with two shows fast approaching and since the art and my life are so closely entertwined anyhow, we'll give it a go...

besides, today (or what is left of today) is Dia de los Muertos! and I'm sure my Milagra girls in heaven will be right here as they always are, whenever I need them.

So what have I been doing lately, besides working my day jobs, driving kids to sports practice and trying to help my Mom secure the purchase of the "short sale" house next
door? (Yep it's true!tremendously exciting, stressful, hopeful and even a little fun)

For the wee hours left in between these things known simply as "life", I'm getting ready for a show! Here's a few peaks at some new stuff.

Still working with lots of brass,

and as always the vintage components I love, but these multi-strand pieces have been really fun.

So this weekend I'll be at 29th annual Holiday Faire in Irvine on Friday Nov.4 from 5-9pm and Saturday the 5th from 9 a.m.-4p.m. (I've lalso isted it as an Event on my Bella Luna Arts Facebook page.)

I'm so looking forward to being out among my art friends again, so if you're in town or around this weekend, be sure to stop by the show and say Hi. And if you're not, just stop by here, leave a comment or a message on my Bella Luna Arts Facebook page. It always means so much to me to hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to check in with me once again.

Take care,

stay inspired,

Bridgette :)

I'm thinking cupcakes...

With Lent over and Mother's Day fast approaching, I'm wondering... what shall I do to get my man to make another batch of these little darlings again? Oh, Red Velvet how I miss you. It's been much too long. Ok, I guess I really should be thinking of exercising and celery or something green to eat, but how fun is that????

Alright, back to work...

Flea Market Finds

The Sunday before last, after an exhausting Sat. show the boy & I (and at the very last minute even my young girl) decided to get up before the sun and head out to the Long Beach Flea Market....unfortunately the guy he sooooo wanted to track down wasn't there because it was raining...whimp! Well we didn't stay for too long either, but before we left, my boy did manage to catch sight of this little treasure trove for his steampunk lov'in Mama! Yep once again, while I was looking at something else this is what HE finds hidden under a table!

Doesn't look like much much right...

But check out all the cool stuff inside! Each little drawer filled with watch parts, tiny tins, crystals, watch makers tools I can't begin to identify yet, and of course lots of dirt, but all so much fun!

Oh and here's the little carved find on the table that was soooo distracting me from the watch cabinet below. Had to buy these too... Ciao for now!
